Element Of Natural Built & Environment

EJ1-AIR POLLUTION

The assignment is about the causes and effects of air pollution of our environment. There are 4 main causes which are transportation, forest fire, vehicles and factories. Without proper management and restriction, air pollution will get more serious and affect our daily life.

EJ 1b- ART SCULPTURE

The art sculpture is a lamp with the body of rocket which is made up of woods. It reminds people not to waste any woods easily as woods contribute a lot to us in life and we should always appreciate it.

EJ 2- Recycle

Recycling is the process of making or manufacturing new products from a product that has originally served its purpose. If these used products are disposed of in an appropriate, environmentally friendly way, the process of recycling has been set in motion.
Items that are made from materials such as aluminium, plastic bottles, and certain kinds of paper (plus many more) can be separated from your regular trash and put in an appropriate recycling bin. These objects can be made easily and the most important thing is that all of them are made up of recycled materials and they are environmentally friendly.

EJ3- TIMELINE

timeline is a way of displaying a list of events in chronological order, sometimes described as a project artefact  It is typically a graphic design showing a long bar labelled with dates alongside itself and (usually) events labelled on points where they would have happened.Timelines are often used in education to help students and researchers with understanding the order or chronology of historical events and trends for a subject. When showing time on a specific scale on an axis, a timeline can be used to visualise time lapses between events, duration (such as a lifetimes or wars), and the simultaneity or overlap of spans and events.  The picture shows the time line of the city. As the time passes by, the buildings have changed and become more advanced than ever. People know how to build well and we can live in a tougher living house.

EJ 4- SPACES

Space is a continuous area or expanse which is free, available, or unoccupied. It is also the dimensions of height, depth, and width within which all things exist and move. i have chosen claustrophobia, dynamic, crowded and calm as my pictures. Those are wonderful memories when I travelled with my family and I will always remember the views.

EJ 5- BUILDING JOINTS, SERVICE
DETAILS AND FURNITURE IF TAYLORS

The assignment shows the building joints, service details and furniture of Taylors' University.

building joint is a junction where building elements meet without applying a static load from one element to  another. When one or more of these vertical or horizontal elements that meet are required by the local building code to have a fire-resisting rating, the resulting opening that makes up the joint must be fire stopped in order to restore the required compartmentalisation.

Service detail is normally the things we see in daily life like lift, elevator, toilet, washroom and so on. These facilities are known as service details as they are meant to give service to people and makes us convenient in doing things.

Furniture is the the movable articles that are used to make a room or building suitable for living or working in, such as tables, chairs, or desks.

EJ 6- WASTE WATER TREATMENT PROCESS

Wastewater, also written as waste water, is any water that has been adversely affected in quality by anthropogenic influence. Municipal wastewater is usually conveyed in a combined sewer or sanitary sewer, and treated at a wastewater treatment plant. Treated wastewater is discharged into a receiving water via an effluent sewer. Wastewater generated in areas without access to centralised sewer systems rely on on-site wastewater systems. These typically comprise aseptic tankdrain field, and optionally an on-site treatment unit.
Sewage is the subset of wastewater that is contaminated with feces or urine, but is often used to mean any wastewater. Sewage includes domestic, municipal, or industrial liquid waste products disposed of, usually via a pipe or sewer (sanitary or combined), sometimes in a cesspool emptier.
Sewerage is the physical infrastructure, including pipes, pumps, screens, channels etc. used to convey sewage from its origin to the point of eventual treatment or disposal. It is found in all types of sewage treatment, with the exception of septic systems, which treat sewage on site.

EJ 7- RURAL AREA: KAMPUNG TEMBOK, IPOH

In general, a rural area is a geographic area that is located outside cities and towns. The Health Resources and Services Administration of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services defines the word "rural" as encompassing "...all population, housing, and territory not included within an urban area. Whatever is not urban is considered rural
Typical rural areas have a low population density and small settlements. Agricultural areas are commonly rural, though so are others such as forests. Different countries have varying definitions of "rural" for statistical and administrative purposes.
I have chosen my hometown, Kampung Tembok, Ipoh and a map is shown as above.

EJ 8- SUBURBAN AREA: TAMAN JASMINE, KAJANG

A suburb is a residential area or a mixed use area, either existing as part of a city or urban area (as in AustraliaChinaNew Zealand and theUnited Kingdom), or as a separate residential community within commuting distance of a city (as in FranceKuwait, the United States andCanada). Some suburbs have a degree of administrative autonomy, and most have lower population densities than inner city neighbourhoods. Suburbs first emerged on a large scale in the 19th and 20th centuries as a result of improved rail and road transport, which led to an increase in commuting. Suburbs tend to proliferate around cities that have an abundance of adjacent flat land. Any particular suburban area is referred to as a "suburb", while suburban areas on the whole are referred to as "the suburbs" or "suburbia", with the demonic for a suburb-dweller being "suburbanite". Colloquial usage sometimes shortens the term to "'burb".
My home is Taman Jasmin, Kajang and  the map is as shown as above.

EJ 9- URBAN AREA: USJ, SUBANG JAYA

An urban area is characterised by higher population density and vast human features in comparison to the areas surrounding it. Urban areas may be citiestowns or conurbations, but the term is not commonly extended to rural settlements such as villages and hamlets.
Urban areas are created and further developed by the process of urbanisation. Measuring the extent of an urban area helps in analysing population density and urban sprawl, and in determining urban and rural populations.
Unlike an urban area, a metropolitan area includes not only the urban area, but also satellite cities plus intervening rural land that is socio-economically connected to the urban core city, typically by employment ties through commuting, with the urban core city being the primary labor market.
In the US, Metropolitan areas tend to be defined using counties or county sized political units as building blocks of much larger, albeit more condensed population units. Counties tend to be stable political boundaries; economists prefer to work with economic and social statistics based on metropolitan areas. Urbanised areas are a more relevant statistic for determining per capita land usage and densities.
The urban area I have chosen is USJ, Subang Jaya and the map is as shown as above.

EJ 10- JANDA BAIK

Janda Baik is a small village in Pahang, Malaysia. Geographically located in the state of Pahang, Malaysia (03 31N Longitude 101 55 E) which is about 30 km from Kuala Lumpur, capital of Malaysia.

Janda Baik is idealistic for retreat from the hectic city life of Kuala Lumpur where temperature reaches 34 C at its peak in daytime. The Janda Baik area has training camps which provide a quiet retreat from the busy city life of Kuala Lumpur, situated in a cooling atmosphere. Janda Baik is situated near Genting Sempah, about 40 minutes to drive from Kuala Lumpur.
