Project 1: Fettuccine Truss Bridge

In this group, we were required to form a group of 6 to discuss about the construction of fettuccine bridge with a requirement of 350mm clear span and maximum weight of 70g. The properties of fettuccine might affect the efficiency of the bridge. We had chosen warren bridge as our bridge design with addition and changes to make it stronger so it could withstand more load. There are few things to take into consideration before constructing which are the type if glue brand, type of fettuccine, connecting ways, thickness of fettuccine and so on. Through this project, I had learnt about the relationship between construction material and load distribution with the identification if compression and tension.

Project 2: Analysis of Reinforced Concrete Building

The assignment was divided into 2 parts which are the group work for the 1st part and individual work for the 2nd part. For the 1st part, in a group of 3, we were required to obtain floor plan of maximum 3 storey of bungalow or 2 semi detached house. We were required to carry out the structural framing and prepare structural drawing s for selected building. All the drawings needed to be completed in order to proceed to the individual work which was the calculation part. 6 beams and 4 columns were chosen for each of the group mates in order to calculate the load distribution of one another. Through this project, I had learnt how to produce a complete documentation on structural system of case study and identify the structural components of the building.
